SPARKLING ROSE

PETALO ROSA MANZONI MOSCATO

EXTRA DRY

FROM VILLA ALME'

Petalo Rosa (pink petal) is an exquisite, extra dry sparkling and pale red wine. It is made from Manzoni Moscato grapes unique to the Veneto, that resulted from crossing Raboso Piave with Moscato di Amburgo, both classic grape varietals of the Veneto. Petalo Rosa is made into a sparkling wine by using the Italian Method of producing bubbles (carbonation) similar to Prosecco. The new grape varietal was created by Professor Manzoni, who taught of the Conegliano School of Viniculture, and hence the Manzoni name. The actual Moscato grape varietal is named 13.0.25 and is a designation created by Professor Manzoni to depict the location in the vineyard where the new grape varietal was born.

Characteristics

Petalo Rosa is ideal as an aperitif but it can also be enjoyed throughout a meal from appetizer to main course. It has a very pale red color, with a lively and long lasted mousse (bubbles). Petalo Rosa is an extra dry wine and you will taste and sense an aroma of roses, strawberries and cherries. It is elegant and structured, and has a tangerine like citrus finish. Petalo Rosa is a very special and unique sparkling wine.

Sparkling Wines

PROSECCO DOC SPUMANTE EXTRA DRY

FROM BOSCO DEI CIRMIOLI

Prosecco is a white sparking wine that can be thought of as Italian Champagne. It has long-lasting bubbles with a unique taste, expressing hints of apple, peach, pear and flower blossoms.

This extra dry Spumante Prosecco made by the Bosco dei Cirmiloi winery is an excellent example of a local Veneto Prosecco from just outside of the very limited DOCG district. The Spumante designation means that the Prosecco is a full sparkling wine with lots of bubbles and bottle under higher pressure.

Characteristics

Wine has straw yellow color with excellent mousse (bubbles) and expresses a fresh, clean and very dry fruity taste. You will sense a citrus aroma and taste, with hints of flowers.

SPARKLING

PROSECCO VALDOBBIADENE SUPERIORE DOCG

EXTRA DRY

FROM CA’ SALINA

Prosecco is a white sparking wine that can be thought of as Italian Champagne. It has fine, long lasting bubbles with a unique taste, expressing hints of apple, peach, pear and flower blossoms. It has a carefully controlled and low alcohol content of about 11.5%. Prosecco has a much fresher and lighter taste than Champagne, with none of the residual taste of vintner’s yeast.

The Ca’ Salina “Sircol” Extra Dry made by Gregorio Bortolin is one of our favorite Valdobbiadene DOCG Proseccos. It is the quintessential wine and winery of the Veneto. The winery sits on the top of a hill in the heart of Valdobbiadene, the premier Prosecco producing district. Gregorio’s family has lived and produced wine in Valdobbiadene for over 500 years.

Characteristics

Long lasting and abundant mousse (bubbles) with a fresh, clean and very dry fruity taste. You will sense an aroma and taste of green apple, peach, pear and flower blossoms. This is a must try.

PROSECCO DOC FRIZZANTE

FROM BOSCO DEI CIRMIOLI

Prosecco is a white sparking wine that can be thought of as Italian Champagne. This is an example of a frizzante Prosecco made by the Bosco dei Cirmiloi winery. The frizzante designation means that although the Prosecco is a sparkling wine, it has less bubbles and is bottled under lower pressure than a spumante. This lower pressure is also evident from the string tie ( or spago) that secures the cork. The lower pressure does not require the use of a wire cage, that is necessary with a spumante. It is considered a more informal version of Prosecco that is less dry with a slightly sweet taste. This is an excellent example of a local frizzante from grapes grown in the Marca Trevigiana foothills of the Alps.

Characteristics

Wine has a pale yellow color with a light mousse (bubbles). It expresses a fresh and fruity bouquet with hints of flowers. You will sense a citrus aroma and slightly sweet taste that is balanced and lively. This is a fun Prosecco with a low alcohol level of about 11.5%.
